1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for or using Matched by Stars ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Matched by Stars Pty Ltd (ABN pending), a company registered in South Australia, Australia.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years of age to use this Service
• You must be legally able to enter binding contracts under Australian law
• You must be genuinely seeking a serious romantic relationship
• You must provide accurate and truthful information about yourself
• You may not create more than one account

3. Account Registration

When you register, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain the security of your password
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account
• Not share your account credentials with any other person

One email address = one account. Attempting to create multiple accounts is grounds for immediate termination.

4. The Matching Service

The Service operates as follows:

• Registration and completion of the compatibility questionnaire is free
• Fees apply when a match meeting our compatibility threshold is found and you choose to proceed with an introduction
• Fees and pricing are disclosed before any charge is made
• We make no guarantee that a match will be found within any specific timeframe
• We do not guarantee that any introduction will result in a relationship
• Our 80% compatibility threshold is a guideline based on our assessment methodology, not a legal guarantee of relationship success

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Provide false or misleading information at any stage
• Use the Service for any purpose other than finding a genuine serious romantic relationship
• Harass, threaten, or abuse any other user or member of our team
• Attempt to contact or identify other users outside of our facilitated introduction process
• Use automated tools, bots, or scraping tools on the platform
• Attempt to compromise the security or integrity of the Service

Breach of these conduct rules may result in immediate account termination without refund.

6. Privacy and Data

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. We handle your data in accordance with Australian Privacy Law.

7. Fees and Refunds

• Registration is free. No credit card is required to register.
• Service fees are disclosed clearly before any payment is required
• Fees are payable when you choose to proceed with a matchmaker introduction
• Refund requests are assessed on a case-by-case basis
• If we are unable to find a match within 12 months of your profile being active, we will discuss credit or refund options

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law:

• Matched by Stars is not liable for any outcomes resulting from introductions made through the Service
• We are not responsible for the actions, words, or behaviour of any user after an introduction
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for fraud, gross negligence, or liability that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, methodologies, and materials on the Matched by Stars platform are owned by Matched by Stars Pty Ltd. You may not reproduce or use them without written permission.

10. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time via your dashboard or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your personal data is deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia. Any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of South Australia.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated by email to registered users. Continued use of the Service after notification constitutes acceptance.
